Lot 3171 WINCHESTER MODEL 1892 LEVER ACTION SADDLE RING

CARBINE. Cal. 32 WCF. S# 513900. Bbl. 20". Model 1892 lever action saddle ring carbine mfg. by Winchester in 1909. Top of the bbl. is marked with Winchester's 2-line mfg. and patent information, with the cal. designation marked towards the breech. Metal components exhibit a reapplied blue finish overall, save for on the mag. tube band and bbl. band, which are polished in-the-white. Buttplate exhibits a nickel plated finish. Single band fastened plain wood forearm and straight grip buttstock with steel carbine buttplate. Wood furniture has been sanded and refinished at one time. Pinned blade front sight with carbine folding leaf V-notch rear sight. Left side of receiver features a lanyard staple and ring. CONDITION: metal components retain the vast majority of their reapplied blue finish, exhibiting some light edge wear, with scattered spots/areas of light to mild pitting present beneath the bluing. Buttplate retains fair to good amounts of its nickel plated finish, exhibiting areas of flaking and wear showing through to a dark patina. Relatively bright bore, exhibiting scattered patches and areas of mild to moderate pitting, while retaining good, albeit worn rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Wood furniture shows scattered superficial handling marks and impressions from handling and storage, with some scattered spots of flaking to the varnish.
